An earthquake took place on July 19, 2021 in Pool Industry when a new regulation regarding pool pumps came into effect on that day, that is Dedicated Purpose Pool Pump Regulation.
After then, pool pumps manufactured in the USA should all meet the energy requirement which is meassured by WEF(Weight Energy Factor). 80% pool pumps disappeared due to this regulation. The rest pumps are all with high energy efficeny motors such as variable speed pumps or some capacitor operate motor pumps. As a result, pool owners will have to pay more for a DoE-compliant pool pump. Some consumers even complain about this. Let me tell you why the regulation is necessary.
One of the main reasons why homeowners should consider making the switch to a dedicated purpose pool pump is because it can help save money on energy bills. A lot of people do not realize that their regular pool pump is actually using more energy than necessary. This is because the regular pump is designed to work with a filter and a chlorinator. But when you are only using the pump to circulate the water in your pool, you do not need to use as much energy.
Another reason why making the switch to a dedicated purpose pool pump is a good idea is because it can help prolong the life of your pool pump. This is because when you are using a regular pump, there is a chance that it will overwork itself and eventually break down. But when you use a dedicated purpose pool pump, you can be sure that it will not overwork itself since it is only being used for one specific task.
So, if you are looking to save money on your energy bills and prolong the life of your pool, then making the switch to a dedicated purpose pool pump is a good idea. It is important to note, however, that you will need to purchase a new pool pump if you want to make this switch. But it will be worth it in the long run!
