After then, pool pumps manufactured in the USA should all meet the energy requirement which is meassured by WEF(Weight Energy Factor). 80% pool pumps disappeared due to this regulation. The rest pumps are all with high energy efficeny motors such as variable speed pumps or some capacitor operate motor pumps. As a result, pool owners will have to pay more for a DoE-compliant pool pump. Some consumers even complain about this. Let me tell you why the regulation is necessary.
